Pandora's Targeted Advertising Freaking Me Out

I just listened to an audio ad running on Pandora that went something like, “Your spouse is the one family member you can choose, giving you another sane person at the dinner table…get marriage tips and advice from TwoOfUs.org.”

It would be easy for me to get sidetraced by TwoOfUs.org here (I see no mention of advice for or inclusion of same-sex couples), but I’ll stay on track for the moment to wonder how the heck Pandora knows my relationship status?

UPDATE 9/24/2009: When I got home last night, I had two pieces of direct mail sent from wedding chotchsky vendors. At this point, I blame The Knot and Style Me Pretty’s Style Circle since they’re the only wedding-related web sites I’ve created accounts with. But that doesn’t explain how they would have obtained my address and farmed it out to advertisers. WTF?
