VIDEO: Sheryl Sandberg on the Work-Life Balance →
Another good interview with Sheryl Sandberg on the importance of a balanced partnership. (I object with that Business Insider title, by the way — isn’t that attitude half the problem?)

Nice Axe
I just realized I’ve been neglecting CV a bit. I have a pretty good excuse, though — we’re relocating a week before Christmas! And closing on our first house six days before Christmas! And soaking up what’s left of our last wonderfully warm Mid-Atlantic winter.
We’re heading back to the Midwest where I’ll need long underwear and hot toddies on the regular.

Pin Up
My biggest complaint about Google+ is that I can’t pull my shared and starred items into it.
So today, after a nudge from Braid Creative, I fired up my Pinterest account and added some boards. While there’s not much in there now, I’m already loving how easy it is to organize and store my items for safekeeping and later reference.
I’m sure I’ll still use shared and...

Neve Inspired
Through Commit Threads, I’ve come across some awesome independent shops. Have to say that Neve Inspired is near the top of my favorites list.
This husband / wife team creates handmade clothing for kids. They screen print each tee by hand, making each rad design “unique and perfectly imperfect, like the little ones they’re made for.” (I love the Charleston!)

The Crush List
Stuff I’ve fallen in love with this week:
Feldman Architecture. I’d bookmarked a photo of this chartreuse door months ago and finally discovered its rightful owner. The folks at Feldman are so damn talented, it hurts.
Stella McCartney’s Fall line for kids. Don’t even talk to me about it.
Chipotle’s team effort with Willie Nelson to end factory farms. I’ll be...

Designers vs Coding
A good read. (And take note of the Don’t Fear the Internet plug — it really is a fantastic collection of [short] tutorial videos.)
In my opinion, any one that works on the Web could benefit from being familiar with coding.

“Do I need to know how to code?” is a question that comes up with sure-fire consistency in design circles. I’ve seen it asked by so many, from...

The Hidden Meaning Behind Pronouns →
“As I pondered these findings, I started looking at how people used pronouns in other texts — blogs, emails, speeches, class writing assignments, and natural conversation. Remarkably, how people used pronouns was correlated with almost everything I studied.” - Psychologist James Pennebaker

Bridge & Burn, Fall 2011
Bridge & Burn released a sneak peek of its Fall line. In addition to some great new jackets and apparel for the ladies, I think Mr. Fletcher has a few garments coming for himself.
I bought a Bridge & Burn jacket when they debuted in 2009, and I probably wear it more than any other piece of outerwear. Even in the off-season, it hangs in the entryway. This thing never sees the back of...

Ze French S'more
My favorite dessert, probably of all time, is a s’more. (I’ve had them for my birthday - in January - instead of cake.) My favorite cookie after chocolate chip are Le Petite Ecolier with dark chocolate.
Basically, what I’m saying is that when Stephanie posted this photo of s’mores made WITH dark chocolate Petite Ecoliers, my brain almost exploded.
GENIUS.
